Nursing Newsletter 1st October 2021

Dear All

First day of October already, there is definitely an autumnal feel to the mornings and evenings.  We are entering busy times ahead with the seasonal ‘Flu and COVID-19 Booster vaccinations being delivered. Please ensure that you are looking after yourselves and managing to get “time off” between weekend clinics.

If you have any stories, items of interest or news to share, please let know for inclusion in your Newsletter.

Clinically Extremely Vulnerable  12-15 year olds –  Vaccine Bus at Lane End Medical Practice

As you may know the eligibility criteria for the CEV 12-15s has been extended, as such we need to put on further clinics as not all of these children will be picked up in schools. There will be an enclosed vaccine bus on the Lane End grounds and a medicines management team to support any nurse available to support these 2 clinic dates.  If you are available on Thursday  7th & 14th October from 12.00p.m. to 6.00p.m., please email .  You will be paid for these 2 sessions by the CCG so include  Katrina Watson, primary care team, in your email.

Practice Nurse Representative on Barnet LMC

Barnet LMC is due to start a new two year term from 1 September 2021.  As part of this process we need to reconfirm the Practice Nurse representative role on the LMC.

Ekene Taylor is the current GPN representative and is no longer able to continue in this role.  It is for Barnet GPN Forum to choose the next Nurse  to represent them at this important forum.  Please see attached statement from Saira Saib who has put herself forward to be your representative on the local LMC.  If anyone has any objections to this proposal, please email me by Wednesday 6 October.  If there are no objections, I will inform LMC that Saira has been elected as the Barnet Nurse rep.
